Our Leadership

Shalom Elcott is a highly accomplished executive and philanthropic strategist, currently serving as President of Index, LLC, where he and his teams have coalesced and invested over a billion dollars in global efforts. In 2023, Shalom co-founded The Neemanim Project II in partnership with the Margolis Family Foundation, integrating exceptional new AI technologies to combat hate speech across our local communities. He recently served as the Curator of Jewish philanthropic partnerships for the Samueli Family Foundation, where he co-founded the Israel Stem Ecosystems, a five-year initiative with global foundations and the Israeli government to expand hi-tech employment.

Previously, Shalom was President and CEO of Jewish Federation & Family Services, Orange County, providing over a decade of leadership that grew the organization's annual income and programs. He also served as President and CEO of The Ted Arison Family Foundation, where he co-created and launched Matan – Your Way to Give, the United Way affiliate of Israel. His foundational career work includes a nine-year term as the founding Executive Director of The American Committee for the Tel Aviv Foundation, and he co-founded The Neemanim Project: The Israel Air Force Center. Among his many capital projects, he led the development and construction of The Spiegel Family Children's Memorial at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Shalom resides in New York with his wife, Robin.
